Mushroom Inoculation Workshop April 23

April 17, 2011 by stowe farm

The sun is getting higher and we are inoculating red oak, sugar maple, red maple and black  birch logs with a variety of shiitake and oyster mushroom spawn.
Some people have shown an interest in attending a mushroom cultivation workshop. Therefore, I plan to offer a teaching session on log inoculation. This symposium is for beginners and those who want to grow mushrooms on a larger scale.
The workshop date is Saturday, April 23rd, 10:00  to 12:30
The price is 25$ per person, or 40$ for “couples”.
Each person will leave the workshop with an inoculated log and information about log care,as well as links to books, articles and supplies for continued mushroom cultivation.
We will be inoculating in a beautiful old cider mill barn. People who sign up for this seminar will need to bring work boots, clothing  and gloves that will take some punishment from handling logs and the splashing sealing wax.
If you are interested, or know folks that would be interested, please respond to this e-mail as soon as possible.
Sincerely,
Paul Lagreze
