Are there alternatives to powering our towns and region with fossil fuel?  Come learn some of the lessons from Germany’s “Energiewende”, its national effort to transition to a renewable energy economy.

This effort has spurred the formation of over 150 “Bioenergy Villages” across Germany.  These German communities are using locally sourced sustainable fuels to produce all of the electricity and most of the heat they consume.

Andrew ‘s talk and slideshow will discuss Germany’s renewable energy policies and its Bioenergy Villages.  Andrew recently spent a year living in Berlin, Germany where he researched and learned firsthand about policies, projects and systems for renewable energy and building energy efficiency that are making Germany one of world’s renewable energy leaders.Sponsored by Climate Action NOW.
