Many hands work party!

November 6, 2021 by Stowe Farm

We are growing, and what a difference more helping hands made last weekend.

On a stunning November Sunday Stowe Farm Community members came together to plant over 120 new raspberry plants that needed thinning from a neighbor’s garden.

With Jonathan leading the way with the rototiller, we planted them in a curve that follows the edge of our “2-4 year mowing” area, part of our new plan to enhance bird, wildlife, human, plant, and animal habitat in the “Solar” field.

Later the same day, the Chicken Club worked on closing in a chicken run that will allow our ladies covered outside access during the coming snows.

We didn’t snap any pics of this event, but our busy November day also saw community members transplanting in our extended season greenhouse, where lettuce, spinach, swiss chard, kale and other winter greens are flourishing.
And thank you to Lynn for cleaning the mirror at our dangerous hairpin turn. This was literally a lifesaver.
