Starts and chicks from local farms

March 26, 2021 by Stowe Farm

Maria's Indigo Apple

We bought our starts from Rich at Shoestring Farm, and Maria at Lyonsville Farm. They are both highly recommend, not only because they are wonderful neighbors and friends, but because they are excellent farmers who grow interesting and hearty plants. Additionally, Shoestring Farm sells maple syrup, and Lyonsville Farm sells produce, flowers, houseplants, and has a CSA.

Black Copper Marans

We were delighted to adopt four new Black Copper Marans through the adoption program from Maeg and Sarah of Silver Fox Farm in Greenfield. They raise quality chicks and hatching eggs. These chicks had a rough start hatching, and needed a little extra love. The jury is still out on if they are pullets or roosters!
